Meet Daisy

Meet Daisy my new three wheel travel scooter. Having this scooter is going to make my life so much easier for getting around. Shopping malls, walking the puppies, and whatever else requires walking. Walking sure is one of those things we take for granted till it is taken away from us. For me and walking I am at the stage where most days I can walk around the house with no problems but as soon as my feet reach outside the house it is a whole new ballgame. Balance can be difficult because of uneven surfaces. This is why I never walk out of the front door without Jose my trustyworthy cane.
I did mention before that I do give all my mobility aids a name which makes it more personal for me.

I will get a chance to try out my new scooter on 23 feb as I am headed to Varadero, Cuba for two weeks with my daughter Ally, my best friend Wanda, and Ally's best friend Jamie. I have been teasing the girls now that I have Daisy they will have to run to keep up with me. I will post again when I get back from holidays and let you all know how Daisy measured up being in Cuba where wheelchairs are still a challenge, never mind a mobility scooter.

In my absence from this blog I have been keeping myself quite busy with an online support group I belong to. I did not realize how long it had been since I posted on here until I received a phone call from my uncle in England wondering if I was alright because I hadn;t posted to the blog in awhile. Thank you dear uncle for the call, it always brightens up my day.

Another bit of good news I would like to share is for a month now I am been bladder infection free. I now take a low dose anti-biotic every day now to prevent them and so far it is doing a great job.

I will post in my return from Cuba

I am just an every day mid-fortyish woman in another chapter of my life trying to live my life to the fullest while battling a disabling disease. Life constantly changes, I no longer work so now I have time for the little things in life. Like for example this online blog I started over a year ago now and the realization of how much I enjoy writing again.
