In the above picture on the left hand side with the red vest on is my friend Sonia from Guardalavaca Cuba. Sonia was one of the waitresses at Club Amigo where us ladies stayed in Feb-2007. We immediately struck a friendship and have been writing letters back and forth since then. Sonia and I come from totally different lifestyles. The part of Cuba that she lives in is very remote where time has stood still compared to Canada. I can still remember being in the taxi on the way back to the airport for my flight home to Canada and seeing men working in the farm fields with donkeys and horses, and trucks from the 1940's still being used. It was like living back in their time as we drove on past. I did find it fascinating though. Seeing other cultures and how they live has always been a passion of mine. Again I think it the "Travel Agent" in me.
Speaking of Travel Agents my good friend Sheryl who is on her around the world adventure, is on her leg of her travels in Africa and on a 3 month safari as I type this. Talk about exciting!!!!!!! I would give anything to be with her right now.
On that note it is time to go curl up on the couch with my puppies
